Development, scoped before code
Membership website development services cover everything behind the design: the CMS, the join and payment journeys, the portal, the integrations, and the hosting and security that keep them running.
The full build (CMS, member record, payments, sign-in) is on membership website development services. The expensive mistakes are made in the brief, not the code. A module left out of the specification comes back as a change request, usually after launch and usually at a worse price.
Two security points belong in every brief. First, card details should never touch your own servers: take them on the payment provider’s hosted or embedded form.
Since April 2025 an embedded payment form must also be protected from script attacks; the PCI Security Standards Council has published how a merchant confirms it.
Second, broken access control is first in the OWASP Top 10:2025. On a membership site, that is one member seeing another’s record, or a lapsed member reaching paid content.
Choose the modules you need and the builder writes the specification lines, ready to paste into a brief or a tender. Choosing the membership system itself (the AMS, CRM or database) is covered on membership software.
